Roopkund is a hike located at high altitude of Uttarakhand at the foot of Trishul Peak & Nanda Ghunti. This place is known for its spectacular surroundings and soothing attractions.
May and June, or August and about halfway through October, are the best months to hike Roopkund. The weather is too severe for trekking any time other than the May first week to the first week of July. The twin Bugyals of Bedni and Ali are at their most beautiful in June, when spring has fully sprung.
Another pleasant time to go hiking in Roopkund is the last week of August through October's first week. The weather has been stable and is ideal for a hike.
Around the final five to seven kilometers of the hike are blanketed in snow at this time of year. Those who want to trek during this time should only do so with a seasoned guide or a trek organizer, and they should bring all the necessary equipment. During this time, hiking alone is not recommended.
Keep an extra day in reserve in May as well; the last stretch to Roopkund Lake may take longer than expected due to snow. Until the snow melts, it's best to let other hikers blaze the way. The best time for solo hikers to attempt Roopkund is after June.
Heavy rain during the peak of the monsoon season causes landslides and flash floods, which frequently block the road leading to Lohajung. Roopkund hike is not an issue once you reach Lohajung because it rarely rains at such high altitudes. Rain is highly improbable in and around Bedni bugyal.
The roopkund trek season has arrived, and it couldn't be better. During this season, the grazing land and pastures in Bedni bloom into flowering meadows because it is summer in the Himalayas. In the summer, when temperatures are milder, trekkers can enjoy the lush meadows of Bedni Bugyal.
Since this is the high season, you won't be hiking alone, as there will be hundreds of other people doing the same thing. However, if you wish to hike Roopkund & enjoy beautiful weather, the best time to do it is between May and June.
Snowfall begins here during this month. This month's significant temperature drop and bitter cold provide significant difficulties. The Roopkund Trek should not be attempted alone in the month of October.
