My sister was getting married and she was planning her pre-wedding shoot in the royal city of Udaipur. Planning this trip was a huge task that came onto me, the bride's younger brother.
I wanted everything to go perfectly as this was a huge occasion for all of us. I started looking for hotels, some popular spots for the shoot and some must-try activities. I realised that booking everything separately was becoming hectic as well as going beyond my budget. Clearly, I was in crisis and needed an immediate solution for this.
A friend of mine suggested looking for a compact tour package, instead of booking things individually. After this, I started searching for Udaipur tour packages which is when I found out about Thrillophilia. There were a lot of options as well as positive Thrillophilia reviews on the site. After some research, I found the perfect 4 days 3 nights Udaipur package which was right under my budget.
Without any delays, I contacted the customer service to know more about the package. I wanted to remove some of the attractions from the package as due to lack of time we could only visit the places which would be perfect for the photoshoot. Over the call, I requested the representative to remove some attractions and add a few others.
We reached Udaipur Airport where our driver was waiting for us. He gave us a warm welcome and congratulated the couple. We headed straight towards our pre-booked hotel which was a beautiful heritage property. The staff welcomed us with aarti, tilak, marigold garland and refreshing Aam Panna.
After checking-in we went straight to our allotted rooms. It was my first time staying in a heritage hotel and I was totally in love with its decor and hospitality. Our rooms were very spacious and right next to a beautiful lake. It had a lavish bathroom with a huge marble bathtub and a separate showering area. I had read about the outstanding accommodation in the Thrillophilia tripadvisor reviews and now I could relate to it.
We quickly freshened up and then went upstairs to the rooftop dining area for lunch. It was a beautiful experience, having a delicious meal while admiring the gorgeous views of the city. After the lunch, my sister decided to fully utilise our stay and start her photoshoot from the hotel.
After her first shoot, it was time to step out and explore the city. Our driver picked us up and we visited places like Saheliyon ki Bari, Fatehsagar Lake and Nehru Island Park. All of these locations were perfect for the shoot and we got some really good clicks. In the evening, we went to a local market from where we did a lot of shopping.
Our day 2 was fully packed and included a lot of beautiful attractions. We first went to the City Palace Museum which was truly an architectural masterpiece. Next, we visited some more places for the shoot like Jagdish Temple, Bagore ki Haveli and Manik Lal Verma Park. We also tried the ropeway to reach Mansapurna Karni Mata and enjoyed panoramic views of the entire city. In the evening, we visited the popular Lake Pichola, enjoyed a boat ride and witnessed the magical sunset.
After clicking hundreds of pictures, the couple was finally satisfied with the shoot. So we decided to try out some fun activities on the last day of our trip. I contacted the representative of the company to let him know about the change in plans. I told him that I wish to change the itinerary for our last day and include some of the activities.
I loved the fact that he had a very positive attitude and within some time he sent us an email with the new confirmations. We requested him to include a helicopter ride and a jungle safari at Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary.
Our driver picked us up from our hotel and we headed straight towards Mohanpura to try the helicopter ride. We opted for the 15 minute helicopter tour and enjoyed stunning aerial views of Fatehsagar Lake, City Palace, Lake Pichola and some forts. It was an unforgettable experience that I would surely recommend to everyone.
Next our driver dropped us off at Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary where we tried the jungle safari. I must say that it was a fun and equally stirring experience. For the first time in my life, I closely witnessed wild animals in an open environment. We saw many animals like hyenas, a cheetah, panther and a group of jackals. After the safari, we also enjoyed a small trek from Gorilla Point to the Aravalli Hills. After such an action-packed day, we all were extremely tired so we headed back to our hotel and ordered dinner in our rooms.
Next morning, we enjoyed our last breakfast near the lake. Then our driver picked us up for the last time and then dropped us off at the Udaipur Airport.
This was my first time booking a tour package from an online travel company and I am glad I did. Thrillophilia not only saved me from the trouble of planning all of this alone, it also proved to be super cost effective. The pre-wedding shoot went extremely smoothly and we also got to explore the beautiful city.
The best part was when the representative helped us create an entirely new itinerary at the last moment. This showed their willingness to truly help the customers and provide the best service.
